LED Light Overview
If you are connecting this LED light to an existing car alarm, you should not need to use the resistor that is included. Your car alarm needs to support a led light between 2 volts and 9 volts. (99% of alarm systems use a voltage between there. It’s standard.)

If you are connecting the LED light directly to a battery or to an alarm that is over 9 volts, you will need to use the resistor that is included. Simply cut the red wire on the led light and place the resistor between the two ends of the red wire. The LED light will now work between 9.1v and 14.5 volts.
